RACE OPTIONS
There are a range of course lengths to suit teams of all fitness and abilities.
Team Sizes – 2, 3 or 4 people.
Course Length – 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours.
48 Hr Course – includes mountain biking, trekking, navigation and packrafting. With two fantastic expedition races on NZ’s Adventure Racing calendar now, the Magnificent & the return of Godzone we felt we could drop our longest race back to a 24 hour.
The 48 hour is sanctioned by Adventure 1 as part of the New Zealand national series. Teams entering the 24 Hr course must provide their own rafts. Raft hire is not included in the entry fee. Any combination of rafts is acceptable (i.e solo rafts, or doubles). Teams must supply river-worthy raft(s) at registration.
The 3, 6 and 12 Hr courses – will include mountain biking, trekking and navigation. Additional activities may be included at the organiser’s discretion.
To streamline registration, all paperwork must be completed prior to arrival. The 3 & 6 hour teams DO NOT require a support crew. 12 hour teams start & finish in different locations so if your team doesn’t have a driver to pick them up from the finish line please contact us.
4WD vehicles are always highly recommended
Only 48 hr & 12 hr School teams will be live tracked as part of their entry fee. Teams who would like to be live tracked can hire trackers through Trackme NZ 0800 776 869 for $110 + gst , please contact david@trackme.life before 31st March 2027.

Family teams – must have at least one adult (over 18) and any number of school aged students.
Children 10 years & under need to be accompanied by a parent.
Withdrawals – Teams who wish to withdraw from the race must notify the race organisers by emailing kaikouraadventure@gmail.com. Teams withdrawing by the 20th of March will be refunded 70% entry fee. Withdrawals from 20th March until April 1st will be refunded 20% of entry fee. There will be no refunds for withdrawals received on or after April 1st. Transfers to the following year may be possible at the organisers discretion, and will be subject to a $25 entry transfer fee.
Cancellation – If the event is cancelled due to circumstances outside of the organisers control entries will be deferred to a future race date. There will be no refunds given.
